Elbert Monroe Jarrell "Jack", 84, of Ravenswood, passed away at home on Wednesday Aug 23, 2017.

He was born in Whitesville, WV, on May 30, 1933, son of the late Alvin and Marjorie Rorrer Jarrell. Jack attended Marshfork High School, served in the US Air Force during the Korean War. After marrying the love of his life, Jean Ruth Simmons, they moved to Ravenswood. Jack retired from Kaiser Aluminum as a millwright after 32 years. He was a volunteer fireman and a member of Masonic Lodge #12 AF & AM in Ravenswood for 48 years.

Left to cherish his memory are his two sons, Terry Lee and wife Judy of Ravenswood, and Gary Wayne and wife Nani of Roanoke VA; 5 grandchildren; Ryan Jarrell of Ravenswood, Mindy Watson (Ben) of Winston Salem NC, Brandon Jarrell, Christony Duren and Jackson (Kaitlin) Jarrell all from Roanoke VA; 5 great grandchildren, Hunter French and Lindsey French, Landon Duren, Levi and Lena Jarrell; his sister, Edith Jennings of NC, formerly of Beckley WV, and brother, Bobby Jarrell of Cocoa FL.

The funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 26, 2017, at 1:00 pm at Roush Funeral Home in Ravenswood with Pastor David Shirer officiating. Burial will follow in Ravenswood Cemetery with graveside rites provided by Masonic Lodge #12 AF & AM.

Friends may visit the family at the funeral home on Saturday, August 26, from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm.
