Everett Donovan Gentry, 97, of Ravenswood, WV passed away February 5, 2021 in Hospice Care at CAMC, Memorial Division, after a short illness.

Everett was born in Havelock, Nebraska on August 31, 1923, a son of the late Everett S. and Mary Delance Gentry.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Phyllis and a son, Thomas C. Gentry.

Everett retired from the City of Ravenswood as a Class III Water Treatment Operator. He also was elected to Ravenswood City Council for two terms. He was a member of North United Methodist Church in Ravenswood and a veteran of WWII serving in the Army Air Force.

He was an avid Quilter and won several awards for his quilts. Everett loved sports cars and as an avid car enthusiast, he loved to drag race and watch Mecum Auto Auctions. He also enjoyed shooting pool.

He is survived by his children, Cheryl Greathouse, Timothy Gentry, Terry Gentry, Patricia Shriver, Jerry Gentry, David Gentry, Retha Pyle, Lisa Rexroad, Lora Rhoades and Regina Brown. 20 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren and 7 great-great grandchildren also survive.

Graveside service at Ravenswood Cemetery will be conducted on Tuesday, February 9, 2021 at 2:00pm, Pastor Don Maxson will officiate. Full military rites will be provided by Jackson County Honor Guard.
