Gregory Nathan Poston, 67, of Ravenswood, WV, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on January 10, 2018, surrounded by his family.

Greg was a beloved husband and father and enjoyed being a papaw to his grandchildren who brought him so much joy. We will miss his guidance, kind smile and witty jokes, but are assured by God's word that we will be reunited again with him in Heaven.

Greg was born on March 11, 1950, the son of the late Nathan and Inez Settle Poston and was the stepson of Jackie McMurray Poston. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church for 35 years and served faithfully for many years as a Deacon and a Sunday school teacher. Greg is a graduate of Ravenswood High School Class of 1968 and served his country as a young man in the Air Force stationed at Loring Air Force Base, Limestone, Maine. He was employed as a Materials Laboratory Technician for the WV DOT Division of Highways.

In addition to his parents, Greg was preceded in death by his brother, Gary Poston and special aunt, Catherine Wriston.

He is loved and missed by his devoted wife of 46 years Barbara McCombs Poston, eldest son Jason Michael Poston and youngest son Jeffery Scott Poston and his wife Mary. Also surviving is one brother, Forrest Poston and his wife Jenny. Greg deeply loved and enjoyed spending time with his precious grandchildren Addison Olivia and Ethan James. Furthermore, he will be sadly missed by a large extended family.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 15, 2018, at 1:00 p.m. at Calvary Baptist Church, 302 Henry Street, Ravenswood, WV, with Reverend Brian Arthur officiating. Friends may visit the family from 11-1 prior to the service. Burial will follow in the Ravenswood Cemetery with graveside military rites provided by the Jackson County Honor Guard.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice Care, 1607 Kanawha Boulevard West, Charleston, WV 25312. The family wishes to thank the nurses, doctors and caregivers at CAMC Memorial 5 West and Hospice West at Thomas Memorial Hospital for their loving care and kindness they showed Greg and his family.
