Julia Inez Wimbauer, 91, of Ravenswood, WV, passed away on November 2, 2021, at CAMC General Hospital in Charleston, WV, surrounded by her family.

Inez was born on September 5, 1930, in Harnett County, NC.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Simpson and Dixie Wise Guin; her brothers, Charles Faircloth, Dr. Thomas Guin, Edward Guin; and her husband of 43 years, A.C. (Mack) Wimbauer.

She is survived by her children, Gail Parks (Chuck), Ronald Wimbauer (Barbara), Charles J. “Chip” Wimbauer (Donna); grandchildren, Heather Gaudio, Jennifer Cooper, Ryan Parks and McCauley Cook; sister, Helen G. Autry; and 1 great grandson, Samuel Palmer.

Inez lived in Ravenswood for 44 years. She was a member of St. Matthew Catholic Church where she enjoyed singing in the choir and participating in the many functions sponsored by the Ladies Guild. She was a passionate gardener and artist. She was an art student of Robert Warren and passed her art knowledge to her own students in the many years she taught in Ravenswood. One of her many pleasures was traveling with her family to warm sunny tropical destinations. Inez, never afraid of challenges, enjoyed snorkeling with her sons, Ron and Chip. In her later years, she enjoyed swimming at the Ravenswood Senior Center and sharing time with her many friends.

Visitation will be held on Friday, November 5, 2021, from 1:00 pm to 1:45 pm at St. Matthew Catholic Church on Kaiser Avenue in Ravenswood. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 pm with Father Pen officiating. Burial will follow in Ravenswood Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to www.pancan.org, a leading pancreatic cancer charity. The family requests to be mindful of the COVID pandemic and follow current guidelines.
