Randolph Dale Rankins

Randolph "Randy" Dale Rankins

Randolph "Randy" Dale Rankins left us on Sunday December 13, 2020 at the young age of 60. He was raised in Ravenswood but lived most of his adult years in Liverpool. Randy worked stints at the Camel factory in Winston Salem, Garrett Masonry, and Workman Construction being a jack of all trades. He could often be seen cruising out Liverpool Road, blasting ACDC, smoking a cig, and with his hair blowing in the breeze. He was an animal-loving simple man that was always up for a 4-wheeler ride, piddling in a garage, or taking a road trip. He was a lovable character that if you met, you could never forget, much like the playful nicknames he gave to those of us he loved.

Randy's greatest achievements that he was most proud of were his 3 boys. Randall Rankins, who preceded him in death, Tyler Rankins, and Cody Beegle. He leaves behind his longtime significant other, Elizabeth Cobb, his only sibling, Sandra Randolph, nieces, Rachel (Randolph) Blankenship and Ashley Slaven, and nephew, Christopher Randolph, as well as 4 great nieces and 1 great nephew.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Sonja (Abels) Thompson, and close cousins, Ralph and Marsha Gladden. Family will have a small graveside service at Independence Cemetery, where he will be laid to rest beside his son, Randall.

Randy will always be remembered for his sense of humor, smile, eccentric vocabulary, and laugh. He will be greatly missed and never forgotten. Rest easy until we meet again, for this is not goodbye but an I'll see you later. "It's not the years in your life that count but the life in your years."

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Roush Funeral Home, P.O. Box 933, Ravenswood, WV 26164, to help with funeral expenses.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Condolences may be expressed to the family at roush94@yahoo.com or on our Facebook page.
