Rosa LaVona Adkins Sauters, 77, of Ravenswood, WV, passed away on January 1, 2022, at Jackson General Hospital in Ripley, WV.

She was born on November 21, 1944, in Huntington, WV, daughter of the late Morris and Aldine Atkins Hamlin.

She was a 45-year member of First United Pentecostal Church in Ravenswood. In her 24 years (1976-1999) as a pastor's wife, she loved her church and felt that God had blessed them with the best!

She worked at Heritage Christian Academy from 1977 to 1982, where she was known as "Mrs. A". For years, she sold Home Interior throughout Jackson County. She served as District Secretary in the Ladies Ministries of the United Pentecostal Church, 1992-2000. She worked for Jackson County Public Library in the Ravenswood Branch for several years. This was the perfect job for an avid reader and someone that loved to talk to people. She worked with the Foster Grandparents program for several years at Henry J. Kaiser Elementary. She loved working with the children and loved the teachers she worked with. She was most proud of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband, Leroy Sauters ; children, Crystal (Reverend David) Johnston, Carrissa (Reverend Randy) Hardbarger; grandchildren, Felicia (Jason) Cozatt, Kinzey Johnston, Patrick Johnston, Keith (Taylor) Hardbarger, Nick (Kelsey) Johnston, Conner (Kayleigh) Johnston; great grandchildren, Bowin, Finley, and Cash Cozatt, Lyla and Alice Culley, Layla Rose Johnston; she was "Aunt Donna" to her nephew, Dwain Hamlin II, who she loved very much; special grandchildren, Josh Parsons and Jenna Parsons. She became "Nana" to the Sauters family, her bonus family, when she married Leroy Sauters on December 4, 2004; children, Tim (Melissa) Sauters, Charles (Diane) Sauters, Joy (Reverend Norwood) Still, and Cheri (Reverend Steve) Smith; grandchildren, Amanda (Aaron) Schmidt, Andrea (Bernardo) Aguilar, Britnee (Isaac) Bradford, Kelsey (Lindsey) Sauters, Charity (Jess) Walter, Alexia (Caleb) McDaniels, Jonathan Still, Steven Smith, Cameron Smith, Rayna Sauters; great grandchildren, Penelope and Vaughn Schmidt, Giselle and Gabriel Aguilar, Montgomery Walter, and Caleb Ryan McDaniel.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Reverend Frank Adkins; grandson, Matthew Hardbarger; brothers, Roger Hamlin and Larry Hamlin; and son, Chris Adkins.

The funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 8, 2022, at 1:00 pm at the First United Pentecostal Church in Ravenswood with Reverend Edwin Harper, Reverend Greg Hurley, and Reverend Daniel Garlitz officiating. Burial will follow in Ravenswood Cemetery.

Friends may visit the family at the church on Saturday, January 8, from 10:00 am until 1:00 pm, time of service.
