Theron Cecil Boggess, 84, of Ravenswood, WV, passed away on December 26, 2015, at CAMC Memorial Hospital in Charleston, WV.

He was born on August 18, 1931, in Silverton, WV, son of the late Hoyt and Ethel Carter Boggess.

He was a member of the Second Baptist Church in Ravenswood. He had been employed as a Cell Operator at Kaiser Aluminum in Ravenswood, and was a veteran of the Korean War, serving in the U.S. Navy. He passion was anything outdoors, gardening and yard work. He was an avid football player and was the first Ravenswood player to be selected to the first All-State team in 1949.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Delores Workman Boggess; children, Ed (Cindy) Boggess, Battle Creek, MI; George Allen (LaDonna) Boggess, Springfield, TN; Rob (Lisa) Boggess, Ravenswood, WV; Ginny (Evan) Daniel, South Point, Ohio; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; sister, Betty, Akron, Ohio; brother, Gene, Ravenswood, WV; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Ann Sayre; sister, Linda; daughter-in-law, Tammy; grandson, Daniel; granddaughter, Gillian; nephew, Rick; aunt, Ellen Holter; and mother-in-law, Susie Workman.

A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, December 29, 2015, at 1:00 pm at Jackson County Memory Gardens in Cottageville, WV, with minister James Workman officiating. Graveside military rites will be provided by Ravenswood VFW Post #6669.
