William Arthur “Bus” Anderson passed away on October 4, 2017, at his home.

e was born on February 10, 1925, to William and Victoria Maston Anderson.

A native of Ravenswood, he served in the US Navy during World War II on the U.S.S. Pennsylvania. He served as Mayor of Ravenswood and councilman in the 1970’s. He worked for 37 years in the postal service as a Postmaster. He owned many different businesses, was a member of the VFW, the American Legion, and the NAPUS. He attended Second Baptist Church in Ravenswood. He loved sports and was a West Virginia Seniors Bowling Champion.

He is survived by his wife of 72 years, Elaine Abbey Anderson; two children, Vickie (Doug) Sehorne of Prestonburg, KY, and William (Teresa) Anderson of Ravenswood WV; seven grandchildren, Valerie, Jeremy, Mathew, Andrea, Erin, Eric and Alex; eight great grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.

The funeral service will be held at Roush Funeral Home in Ravenswood on Saturday, October 7, 2017, at 1:00 pm with Pastor S. R. Parsons, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in Ravenswood Cemetery with graveside military rites provided by Jackson County Honor Guard.

Friends may visit the family at the funeral home on Saturday, October 7, from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm.
